Watermelon, Stars and Dots

Our day at The Farm started like it did last year, small groups and get to know you games.  Trenton and my group played Watermelon, they loved it!  Silly games are any easy way to get kids relaxed and chatting.  I truly enjoy our time at The Farm, the deeper relationships with old friends, the blessing of new ones, and the joy in seeing them embrace Jesus "with all that they have." 

Of course I also love to engage our team in some manual labor that is not part of their normal routine back home!  Getting dirty for Jesus, blessing the children's center and girl's dormitory with some new plantings of grass.  When my family landscaped our backyard in Cali, we just laid out sod, but in Kenya you plant grass much differently! :)

One of the "stars."  At the end of the object lesson they out their stars and dots and burned them in the fire to signify that they get their worth from God, their maker.

It was an amazing time at The Farm and we were blessed that God orchestrated the day rather than us.  The Farm students are already asking us to stay longer next year!  As we were leaving, we prayed for George, one of the students who will graduate next month.  He was one of the first students Trenton met on our first trip to Africa.
